This is a romantic comedy about marriage.  The suburban couple, Greg and Kate have left the suburbs behind and moved to Manhattan after 22 years of child-raising. Greg brings home a stray dog from the park. The dog tag indicates her name is Sylvia. Greg finds comfort in his relationship with Sylvia as an escape from his job and middle age. Kate sees Sylvia as a rival. The New York Times calls it, “the most involving, beautiful, funny, touching and profound play…..”

Director’s Bio

Greg Madera is a native of South Carolina and a graduate of Limestone College, and began his theater career with the Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville,Tennessee. Greg has worn several hats in the theater including Actor, Stage Manager, Technical Director, Carpenter and Director. Sylvia and Shooting Starare Greg’s summer directing projects. During The Marco Players’ most recent season, he was in The Interview as “James T. Shannon,” and directed Becky’s New Car. All theater is collaborative and Greg thanks everyone who helped bring this show to life, especially the audience. Without you, it’s a rehearsal.
